Preparations are now finalised for the 33rd Calne Music and Arts Festival which will take place between the 5th and 14th October.
Over 30 events in various venues in the town will include classical concerts, orchestras, jazz, folk, talks, dance, art, workshops, street entertainment and a silent movie.
On the opening Saturday - on Cherhill Down - members of the public led by a local textile artist wil produce a massive pink pig alongside the famous white horse. This project is in conjunction with the "Big Draw" and will be featured nationally.
Marden House will be home to an Exhibition of Art by local amateur and professional artists and will be open to the public throughout the 10 days of the festival.
Excellent lunches are provided by a team of volunteers in Marden House, after the lunchtime recitals, and, in the evening, there is a festival bar.
Brochures can be obtained and bookings for events can be made at Bank House/Calne Information Centre (opposite the Town Hall). Full details and contact numbers are available in the brochure for those wishing to become a Patron, exhibit work, take part in a workshop etc.
